Ben-Gvir Slams Rivals as "Anti-Israel" Amid Disqualification Bid
The petition, submitted Monday, also charges the party with eroding democratic institutions, undermining the rule of law, and challenging judicial authority, according to Israeli media.
According to the Democrats, lawmakers aligned with the Kahanist movement have exploited their political standing and parliamentary immunity to defy court rulings, contest the Supreme Court's authority, and incite "violent racism."
The Central Elections Committee has not yet issued a ruling on the disqualification request.
Ben-Gvir has firmly rejected the effort, hitting back at Yair Golan's Democrats and branding them "anti-Semitic" and "anti-Israel."
The challenge lands just days after Israeli political parties submitted their official candidate lists ahead of the vote. In total, 38 lists have registered to compete for the 120 seats in the Knesset, though recent polling suggests only around 13 are likely to clear the threshold needed to win representation.
Any ruling to disqualify a party or candidate from the race would still face review by Israel's Supreme Court.
